The Lumber & Plywood Dept. is engaged in importation and sales of lumber and
plywood. Our customers include trading companies specialized in construction materials, construction
material manufacturers, authorized dealers, lumber wholesalers, house manufacturers, builders, wood
processing companies, packaging companies and companies specialized in interior finishing.
Although the number of housing starts in Japan is still sluggish, we intend to expand our business
by publicizing the excellent characteristics of lumber, anticipating changes in distribution, developing
lumber resources, and establishing a new distribution system. Using the know-how Hanwa has gained
through its e-commerce site for steel products, we have opened hanwa-lumber.com, Japan’s first
e-commerce site for lumber sales. We intend to continue pioneering new lumber distribution models.
