Recycling of Steel Scrap
Accelerate a circular society
Components of temporary structures that have finished their
roles at a construction site, steel products generated by
demolishing buildings, ends of steel sheets that have been
trimmed off at factories, and other such pieces are disposed of
as steel scrap.
We collect this steel scrap from construction sites and
various factories and supply them to manufacturers with electric
arc furnaces to circulate the material into the production of
new steel products.
Supplying steel scrap as a source of
steel to companies with electric arc furnaces, which emit less
carbon dioxide than blast furnaces, means that we are also
contributing to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

The move to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is growing stronger globally, and the shift from blast furnaces to electric arc furnaces in steel production is being encouraged in China as well. This means that the demand for steel scrap is growing. China had halted imports of steel scrap a few years earlier due to contamination by other materials, but because scrap generated in China will not be able to meet the coming demand, import of high-quality steel scrap resumed in 2021 under the category “recycled iron and steel raw materials.” We are among those who have started exporting them to China.
