Recycling of E-scrap
Accelerate a circular society
Wastes of electric and electronic equipment are called
“E-waste,” and about 50 million tons are generated globally
every year. It is only increasing as each country develops
economically.
Many recyclable resources are included in E-waste, and
they are recycled in many ways after collection and disassembly.
Among such resources, we are involved in the distribution
of E-scrap from electronic substrate and similar items,
contributing to the reuse of precious metals including gold and
silver.

In 2016, we established MM Metal Recycling B.V. in the Netherlands with Mitsubishi Materials Corporation to increase E-scrap sourcing in Europe, and a sampling center for accepting, inspecting, and collecting samples from E-scrap went into operation in 2018. This center improved the E-scrap acceptance and processing capacity. Further, performing the steps from acceptance to sampling in Europe meant that the time required for purchase evaluation there was greatly reduced, and this means that we can serve the needs of customers who wish to deal with E-scrap quickly.
